A Surprising Name Wants To Be A James Bond Villain

Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan said in a new interview that she’s enjoyed making independent films over the years, but now she’d like to do something “big.” And what might that be?

She told The Los Angeles Times (via GamesRadar) that her dream role is something few would have guessed: a Bond villain. “I’ve done a lot of independent film,” she said. “And I love the experience of making an independent film Come from online casino bangladesh . But as for her future? “I would like to do something big and shiny.” And specifically, her dream role is playing a villain in a 007 movie. “I’d love to do that,” she said.

Every James Bond movie has at least one main villain. Rami Malek played Safin in No Time To Die, Javier Bardem turned in a memorable performance as Silva in Skyfall, and Christoph Waltz brought Blofeld to life in Spectre. Who might play the next great Bond villain is anyone’s guess. Paul Giamatti recently talked about wanting to play a Bond villain, and that would certainly be fun to see. David Dastmalchian has also said he’d like to take a crack at it.

Casting for Bond 26 hasn’t been announced yet, however, and we would assume the producers will confirm the next Bond actor first before revealing who’s playing the villain and other roles. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is reportedly the frontrunner to play Bond in the next film.

Back in August, Ronan talked about feeling “grieved” about passing on a role in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit. She said she wants to make more blockbusters to extend her career.

“Even with me choosing very well-respected, drama-fuelled, thought-provoking pieces for the most part–I love doing that. But I’m also like, ‘I’ve done a lot of that. I think I want to do a big movie now.’ And hopefully I’ll get to do that,” she told Total Film.

Ronan earned Academy Award nominations for Atonement, Brooklyn, Lady Bird, and Little Women. Her latest film is The Outrun, which premieres this week.
